You can create a lot of heat by asking employers and consultants how workers' compensation third-party administrators contract with subcontractors or suppliers. More than a few employers are agitated that some TPAs seem to forget their clients while making deals for managed care, investigations, durable medical equipment and all that goes into managing claims.
