Venture Insurance, a national program administrator based in West Chester, Pa., named James M. Shaffer as vice president of sales and marketing. He will oversee all Venture sales and marketing efforts across all the company's programs, maintaining and developing strategic business relationships with agents and brokers nationwide. Shaffer, who joined Venture in 2000, previously held the position of regional vice president, Midwest and Central Regions.
U.S. Risk Insurance Group Inc., a managing general agency and surplus lines wholesaler, announced that Peter Stanislaw will be program manager of StaffPak, an insurance package for the staffing industry. StaffPak is offered through Annandale, Va.-based Lighthouse Underwriters, a program underwriting subsidiary of Dallas-based U.S. Risk. Stanislaw also serves as vice president and branch manager of Lighthouse, where he's been since 2004.
McClelland and Hine, an MGA and excess and surplus lines broker, promoted Cynthia Pompa to marketing representative for the firm's Dallas office. Pompa has been with the company since 2006 as an underwriter and has 13 years' experience in the industry.
Crump Insurance Services hired Mike Driscoll as vice president and broker in the company's Houston office. He is responsible for specialty wholesale property placements in the excess and surplus marketplace through Crump's network of carrier binding authorities. Prior to joining the company, Driscoll was executive vice president of the property/casualty division at London American Risk Specialists.
General Star Management Co., an excess and surplus lines provider operating through a select group of wholesale brokers, appointed Gregory J. Diorio as chief operating officer and Joseph L. Majsak as chief marketing officer. Diorio will oversee all underwriting divisions and Majsak will oversee the new Marketing Services Division.
