Wells Fargo Insurance Services Inc. hired Cynthia Shafer as Midwest regional business development officer in its National Cross-Sell PracticeGroup. She will be based at the company's headquarters in Chicago. Shafer previously was vice president for Maximum Independent Brokerage, where she led the casualty department.

Lockton Companies named Kevin McDaniel as president of its St. Louis office. He succeeds Whity Meyer, who founded the Lockton St. Louis operation in 1984 and will continue as chairman. McDaniel joined Lockton more than 10 years ago as a producer and most recently served as executive vice president and member of the Executive Committee.

Lockton added Chris Kaine to its Washington, D.C., brokerage team as vice president and producer for all property/casualty lines, a move that expands the office's D&O liability and private equity/mergers and acquisitions capabilities. Prior to joining Lockton, Kaine was a senior vice president in the Austin and Washington, D.C., offices of Willis, working as a producer and client advocate focusing on executive risks and private equity.

Dallas-based Colemont Insurance Brokers promoted Gary Grindle to vice president of the firm's Hartford, Conn., office. Grindle joined the brokerage in 2005 from Guilford Specialty Group, where he served as regional underwriting manager. Prior to that, he was assistant vice president for Citigroup's foreign insurance subsidiary, CitiInsurance. He has also been chief international underwriting officer and national director at Travelers Insurance Co.

Colemont Insurance Brokers named Stephanie Lymore the new financial services broker in its San Francisco office. Lymore joined Colemont in 2007, marketing all lines of financial services coverages. Previously, she worked for Dealey, Renton & Associates; All Risks/Dwyer & Associates; and the Surplus Line Association of California.
