Willis International Holdings, the international division of global insurance broker Willis Group Holdings, appointed MARGO BLACK
as the chief executive officer for their reinsurance operations in Brazil. Based in Rio de Janeiro, Black will be responsible primarily for the technical and sales development of wholesale business in Brazil, and will also represent the group's treaty division, Willis Re, in expanding their client offering in the newly opened Brazilian reinsurance marketplace. Black joins from Allianz Brazil where she was the main board director responsible for the insurer's Global and Corporate Division.
TIM GARDNER has been named head of Guy Carpenter & Co.'s newly formed Global Sales Practice. An integral part of the firm's new Global Client Development group, the Global Sales Practice will coordinate the efforts of Guy Carpenter's business intelligence, marketing, sales operations, product line specialties and other advisory services.
Guy Carpenter also named DON MANGO to the new position of chief actuary. Mango will oversee a team of Instrat leaders who serve as multi-regional resources, oversee best practices and advisory groups and direct leading-edge actuarial research and development. Previously, Mr. Mango was the head of Guy Carpenter's Enterprise Risk Management Advisory Practice Group.
TRISHA ROZAS has joined Guy Carpenter as chief information officer, a new position. Based in Hoboken, N.J., she will focus on the development and deployment of technologies across the organization. Rozas joins Guy Carpenter from CIT Group, where she was CIO for commercial finance. Prior to joining CIT Group, she spent eight years at AIG, most recently as vice president and senior information officer.
Pembroke, Bermuda-based global reinsurer PartnerRe Ltd. has promoted BRIAN SECRETT
to chief underwriting officer, catastrophe. Secrett, who joined PartnerRe as an underwriter in 1994, most recently served as senior vice president, head of reinsurance operations. Secrett succeeds Willi Schürch, who joined PartnerRe as a catastrophe underwriter at its formation in 1993 and who will be retiring at the end of November 2008. LAURA DAVIS, currently senior underwriter and research manager, Bermuda has been promoted to senior vice president, head of catastrophe, Bermuda. Davis, a Bermudian, joined PartnerRe in 2001 as an underwriter for the U.S. catastrophe portfolio.
