WILLIAM BABCOCK was appointed group finance director at Bermuda-based PartnerRe. His responsibilities will include group finance and reporting, group tax and treasury. He will report to Chief Financial Officer Albert Benchimol. With 15 years of accounting and reinsurance experience, Babcock comes to PartnerRe from Endurance Specialty Holdings, where he was chief accounting officer and director of financial operations.

JOHN EHINGER was named the new global chief operating officer of Willis Re. Besides his current role as president of Willis Re US, which he will hold until the end of this year, his new responsibilities will include the execution of the "Shaping Our Future" initiative for profitable growth as it relates to Willis' reinsurance operations.

Willis Re also promoted MARK LEVER to the role of chief administrative officer, from his previous role as managing director for operations, international and specialty. Lever will be based in London and will continue to facilitate the interface between the international and specialty branches of the reinsurance broker.

IAIN POCOCK was also given new, increased responsibilities at Willis Re related to the "Shaping Our Future" implementation. Pocock will continue in his position as chief financial office of Willis Re, based out of Ipswich and London.

DAVID KALAINOFF was named managing director and executive vice president of the reinsurance arm of Max Bermuda Ltd. He will continue as well in his prior role as chief underwriting officer and executive of casualty reinsurance.

Max Capital Group Ltd. also announced that ADAM MULLEN has taken on a new position with Max Re Europe Ltd. as managing director and executive vice president, based in Dublin. He will continue in his prior role as chief underwriting officer for specialty reinsurance.

MASSIMO REINA joined Guy Carpenter & Co. as the CEO of its Italian operations, based in Milan. Reina left Aon Re Italy, where he was general manager. Guy Carpenter also announced that ANDREA MANZITTI was promoted to chairman of its Italian group. She has been with the company since 2002.
