GE Insurance Solutions has announced a new primary insurance product designed for specific segments of the hotel industry. Offered through Klein Insurance Services of West Paterson, N.J., and available only through insurance agents and brokers, the comprehensive, multiline property/casualty program is designed to cover risk exposures for hotels that cater to business and short-stay leisure travelers.

Public Entities

The Florida League of Cities has announced a new insurance initiative called The Alliance. This partnership will provide Florida public entities with an array of insurance coverage and service options that will enable them to design custom programs specific to their individual needs. Through The Alliance, public entities will have access to the insurance and reinsurance markets, including professional loss control services, seasoned insurance brokerage expertise and strong analytical resources, as well as a nationally recognized fraud unit.

Specialty Cover

Philadelphia Insurance Cos. has announced it is offering a new product for fitness and wellness studio operators. It will focus on storefront risks for facilities that offer one-on-one fitness training or group fitness training in the areas of aerobics, Pilates, personal training, martial arts, group fitness and elite athlete training, as well as weight loss clinics and massage therapy clinics. Available coverage includes business owners policy, property, general liability and professional liability. An Elite Enhancement form is available that increases coverage offered under the BOP policy.

SOFTWARE

Health Management

Guided2Health (formerly known as Managed Care 2000+) has introduced a new component in its suite of fully integrated medical management programs for self-insured employers. The new program, called Guided2Health Wellness, aims to reduce chronic health conditions by targeting the health behaviors that cause them, thereby saving money for its users.

Compliance

LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of information and services, has announced the launch of LexisNexis Insurance Compliance. This solution combines LexisNexis content with insight, expertise and analysis in a single easy-to-use Web-based application, with the goal of helping insurance companies to reduce the millions of dollars paid for inadvertent violations of complex compliance regulations.

Mobius Management Systems Inc., a provider of software for managing documents, has announced the availability of ABS for Spreadsheet Compliance. Spreadsheet management is a new capability of Mobius' Audit and Balancing System, or ABS, which ensures the integrity and consistency of enterprise information by automating labor-intensive balancing and reconciliation processes that are subject to error when performed manually.

TECHNOLOGY

Health Management

The Alcott Group has unveiled a new service, ZivaGuide. This subscription-based service provides individuals with access to unbiased, personalized, customized and localized health-care information and enables them to create customized health profiles. Using ZivaGuide, employees can retrieve information about specific diseases and health conditions and access resources to help them control the associated risks. In this way, ZivaGuide might serve to contain health costs by empowering individuals to take more control of their health.

Business Continuity

STORServer, manufacturer of the all-in-one suite of Business Continuity Appliances, has begun offering its most comprehensive disaster recovery consulting services to date. The new Disaster Recovery Planning and Support service will provide businesses with the help needed to plan and prepare for a disaster and provide support 24 hours a day in the event of an actual disaster.

Policy Administration

Unify Corp., a provider of business automation solutions, has announced the availability of the NavRisk Policy Administration Portal, a Web-based, secure environment that extends NavRisk policy and underwriting information to an insurer's prospects, customers and agents. The portal provides a single integrated view of exposure, coverage and policy information; automates and shortens the annual renewal process; and could improve the day-to-day policy administration workload.

Assurant Employee Benefits has expanded and enhanced its Web-based Online Advantage service to allow brokers, dental plan members and dental care providers to more efficiently manage their business and insurance plan information. The service was initially offered exclusively to employers as an administrative tool.

Acclamation Systems Inc. has announced LuminX SX, a portfolio of business services aimed at increasing health-care payers' efficiency and profitability. The first offering to be delivered under this new brand is Business Optimization Services, which provide health insurance payers with either end-to-end or point solution outsourcing.

Litigation Risk

ARMA International has developed a tool to help uncover an organization's risk in litigation and e-discovery. ARMA International's Risk Profiler Self-Assessment for E-Discovery was developed with content expertise from LECG. This tool ultimately will help records managers, legal counsel and information-technology departments to better understand their readiness for e-discovery and the associated risks.
