Integro Ltd. announced that its president, Peter Garvey, has assumed the additional responsibility of chief executive officer. Former CEO Roger Egan resigned from the position in early September. Garvey has served as Integro's president since 2005, when he, Egan and Robert Clements founded the brokerage. Before serving as Integro's CEO, Egan was president and chief operating officer of Marsh.
BRIAN NEARY joined Lockton in Washington, D.C., as a vice president and producer in the firm's employee benefits consulting practice. Prior to joining Lockton, Neary was a worldwide partner for Mercer Health & Benefits, serving as a senior consultant and practice leader during his 11 years there.
Beecher Carlson appointed Craig Nelson as senior vice president focusing on accounts in the retail industry from the firm's Denver office. Previously holding executive position at Lockton Cos. and Aon Risk Services, Nelson most recently served as executive vice president, business development, for Denver-based Van Gilder Insurance Corp.
Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., parent company of the insurance broker, appointed Erick Gustafson as director of government relations, a new position reporting to Peter Beshar, executive vice president and general counsel. Gustafson was most recently senior vice president of legislative and political affairs at the Mortgage Bankers Association, directing an advocacy agenda on Capitol Hill and at the White House and state levels.
Marsh hired BERTIL OLSSON as energy leader of the U.S. Energy, Mining & Power Practice. Olsson joins Marsh from Willis Global Energy, where he was executive vice president and practice leader for its Houston Energy Practice. He began his career with Marsh in its Stockholm office, where he worked on large package programs for integrated oil companies.
Marsh also appointed William B. Diaz as head of Marsh Client Technologies, a newly formed unit that comprises MarshConnect, the firm's global client technology interface, and CS STARS, a provider of risk and claims management systems. Diaz has been with Marsh for nearly 14 years and has served in a variety of leadership roles with CS STARS, including global sales manager.
During the past two years, he has led the firm's MarshConnect client interface.
The Big 3 named also named Julie Page as head of its U.K. Commercial Practice, which serves the small and midsize enterprises sector in Britain. Most recently, Page headed the transformation program of Marsh U.K.'s middle market business, developing the company's strategy and expansion in this market segment.
Willis Re, the reinsurance arm of global broker Willis Group Holdings, announced that Rowan Douglas, managing director of Willis Re Analytics and chairman of the Willis Research Network, was appointed to the Natural Environment Research Council by U.K. Science Minister Ian Pearson. With an annual budget of around £400 million, NERC is the largest funder of environmental science research in British universities and its own research centers.
Lockton hired Stephen Reid as chief operating officer with responsibility for the retail division in London, which encompasses the Corporate Risk Solutions, ProFin and Affinity operations. Prior to joining Lockton, Reid led the Risk Management Practice for Marsh in the U.K. and was also a member of the Global Risk Management Executive Committee.
