Aon Consulting has announced that MICHAEL GULOTTA and ROGER VAUGHN have been appointed chairman and vice chairman of Aon Consulting U.S., respectively. Gulotta currently serves as executive relationship manager for a number of Aon Consulting's largest clients. Gulotta joined the organization in 2000, when Actuarial Sciences Associates merged with Aon. At that time, he had been ASA's president and chief executive officer for 16 years. Vaughn becomes vice chairman, moving from his current position as president of Aon Consulting U.S.

PHIL SHAW has been appointed as director of surety for Aon Construction Services Group, the firm has announced. Shaw will be responsible for primary account management duties on commercial and contract accounts for the Dallas office, syndication and placement of surety risks, and overall marketing, sales and business development responsibility for the surety practice. An employee for the past three years, Shaw previously spent 13 years with Employers Re and nine years with Chubb.

KATHY BURNS has been appointed CEO, Aon Risk Services Americas, eSolutions Group. Burns will be in charge of the eSolutions business in the United States, and focus on three premier technology platforms: AonLine, Aon RiskConsole and Aon Safetylogic. She will also have global operational authority for these platforms.

Guy Carpenter & Co. Inc. has announced that SHAUN SCADE will join the firm as a senior vice president and head of its accident and health specialty practice in London. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Scade was an executive director of Aon Re's accident, health and life team, where he worked since 1995. He also worked at C.T. Bowring as a North America property and accident and health broker, and he was recruited to Nicholson Leslie (ultimately Aon) to develop accident and health reinsurance.

Beecher Carlson has announced that it has expanded its national energy practice with the appointment of PATRICK STUMBRAS as managing director. Stumbras brings 17 years of experience to Beecher Carlson with deep expertise and specialization in the power generation industry. He will focus on the development and management of energy accounts and operate from Beecher Carlson's Boston office. Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Stumbras served as account manager in the energy and marine division of McGriff, Seibels & Williams. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president in the power and utility practice at Marsh.

The company has also announced the expansion of its executive liability practice with the addition of ZULMA MARQUEZ ZAK as senior vice president. Zak has more than 20 years experience in the insurance and risk management industry with specialized expertise in executive liability products. Zak will focus on business and client development for executive liability products and will operate from Beecher Carlson's Los Angeles office. Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Zak co-founded ECM Insurance Services, a firm specializing in executive liability exposures.

DOUG MILLER has been appointed to chief financial officer of the Lombard, Ill., office of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Co., the firm has announced. He joins HRH with 18 years of insurance industry experience. His expertise includes analyzing and assessing the financial, operational and compliance efforts of insurance brokers, wholesalers and claims adjusting companies. Miller was most recently with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., where he was responsible for conducting companywide internal audits for 12 years.

Willis Group Holdings Ltd. has announced the appointment of four new insurance professionals to its Canadian operations: ROBERT KUDZMAN, DANIA FAWAZ, SYLVAIN DICAIRE and DANIEL GIROUX, are based in Montreal.

Kudzman, formerly partner and senior consultant at Jones Brown, joins Willis as vice president. He has been involved in the insurance industry for more than 30 years, specializing in financial institution insurance. Fawaz, formerly an assistant vice president, producer, at Marsh, joins Willis as vice president, producer. While at Marsh, Fawaz was a top middle market producer in the manufacturing sector. Dicaire, formerly an assistant vice president, account executive, at Marsh, brings to his new position as vice president, account executive, more than 25 years of brokerage experience within the field of manufacturing. Giroux, formerly lead generator at Marsh, joins Willis as business development consultant. A results-driven professional, he has enjoyed a successful career as a telemarketer for more than 14 years.

Swett & Crawford has hired BRUCE J. ROUNTREE to lead the firm's Phoenix operations, the company has announced. His hiring is part of the company's strategy to expand its presence in key markets. Rountree, who has managed books of business ranging in size from $75 million to $200 million, in primary and excess lines in transportation, property, professional liability, D&O, E&O, energy and umbrellas, was recently a vice president for American International Group Inc.

In other company news, NEAL ABERNATHY, the company's president and chief operating officer since August 2005, has been named chief executive officer. Abernathy has helped to lead the company through its divesture from Aon Corp. and its formation as an independent company in November 2005. He will retain the title of president.

PAUL KOBYRA has joined the Lockton Cos. Inc., as senior vice president of its New York retail office. As casualty practice leader, his department will be responsible for the delivery of casualty broking and advisory services to clients. Paul joins Lockton after being at Marsh for 23 years where he was a managing director.

The company has also announced that DIANA EGLIN has joined the New York office as senior vice president of the Financial Services Group. Eglin specializes in the consulting, negotiating, and marketing of directors' and officers' liability, including general partnership liability, fiduciary liability, employment practices liability, fidelity/computer crime, kidnap/ransom and extortion, and professional liability.

RICHARD ALLEN has also joined the company's New York City retail office as senior vice president and senior account executive. Allen has more than 29 years experience in the insurance industry, with more than 27 years in the brokerage business. In his new capacity at Lockton, Allen will be responsible for managing and maintaining client relationships for risk management accounts.

In addition, CHAD MARRISON has joined the New York retail office as senior vice president. Marrison will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Lockton's risk management resources to clients. Marrison joins Lockton after being at Marsh for 24 years, where he held numerous positions within its risk management department.

TIMOTHY J. HARPER has also joined the company's New York retail office as a vice president, the firm has announced. As an account manager, Harper is responsible for maintaining and delivering brokerage services to clients. Prior to joining Lockton, Harper was a casualty client advisor for Marsh USA's New York Metro Zone Risk Management operations.
