AIR Worldwide Corporation hired AKSHAY GUPTA as principal engineer and director of its Catastrophe Risk Engineering practice. Prior to joining AIR, Gupta was with Exponent Failure Analysis Associates for about 10 years, where he most recently held the position of principal engineer in the Buildings & Structures Practice.

Novarica, a research and advisory services division of Novantas LLC focused on markets, operations and technology for insurers and financial institutions, hired KARLYN CARNAHAN as a principal. She will be located in the company's San Francisco office. Carnahan recently served as vice president of marketing for the Fireman's Fund commercial lines division.

Plantation, Fla.-based TPA Broadspire appointed two business development executives to head the company's casualty sales team. BRIAN J. GANNON will serve as vice president of casualty sales for the western region, based in Southern California. PHILIP W. FINKLE will serve as vice president of casualty sales for the eastern region, based in Atlanta, Ga. Gannon most recently was vice president of business development for Cambridge Integrated Services Group. Finkle most recently served as a sales executive for Specialty Risk Services.
