DANIEL MADSEN joined Collins, a privately held reinsurance brokerage, as senior vice president, analytical services. Most recently, he was a senior vice president at Willis Re, where he managed a team of analysts supporting reinsurance placements and providing other catastrophe risk advisory services. Prior to joining Willis, he worked for reinsurance broker E.W. Blanch and Co.
Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property/casualty insurance and reinsurance, hired LAUREN KENT as senior underwriting manager and head of reinsurance for Endurance Worldwide Insurance Ltd. in London. Kent joined Endurance in 2003 as vice president, treaty underwriting, in New York, transferring to Endurance Worldwide Insurance Ltd. in London in 2006.
Willis Re has formed a Protection & Indemnity and Marine Mutual Reinsurance team and appointed a managing director and three new executive directors to the group. The new unit is part of Willis Re's Specialties Marine division. ROBIN BROWN has been appointed managing director of the P&I Marine Mutual Reinsurance unit from his former position as an executive director with Willis Re. Brown joined Willis in 1993.
In addition, Willis Re named BRUCE CLAYTON, MARTIN MEIER and CHARLES SPANTON as new executive directors of the unit. Serving as deputy to Brown, Clayton joins Willis Re from Arthur J Gallagher and has 25 years of marine and P&I reinsurance experience. Meier, former owner and director of his own consulting company, Meier Business Associates, has more than 20 years of marine reinsurance experience. Spanton joins Willis Re from Guy Carpenter, where he was senior vice president of the Marine Treaty Department.
