Aon Corp. has announced the appointment of MATTHEW HORWITCH to the position of executive vice president and global large corporate national sales leader. In his new posts, Horwitch will be responsible for developing and managing sales initiatives, with an initial focus on establishing client relationships with global large corporations with which Aon has limited or no involvement. Previously, Horwitch served as executive vice president of Lockton Cos. in Chicago, and a member of the executive committee.
Aon Corp. has also named SCOTT MALCHOW to the position of vice president and head of investor relations. Malchow will be based out of the broker's Chicago headquarters. He was previously director of investor relations for Andrew Corp.
Accume Partners, a provider of internal auditing, IT internal auditing, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and other risk management services, has announced that JAMES B. MCGUIRE is to be president and chief operating officer. His new responsibilities will include the management of company operations, its business unit operations, infrastructure and human capital development. He will report to CEO John F. White. Prior to joining Accume, McGuire was president and CEO at UHY Advisors, and part of KPMG Consulting's leadership.
Beecher Carlson has announced that it has added MICHAEL MCGOWAN to its New York Executive Liability team as a producer. McGowan will focus on business and client development for Beecher Carlson's executive liability products. Before the move, McGowan served as national sales and marketing manager for NWI Investigative Group Inc., a company specializing in uncovering insurance fraud.
Cooper Gay Intermediaries LLC, the U.S. treaty reinsurance brokering arm of Cooper Gay (Holdings) Ltd. has announced the appointment of MICHAEL S. JOYCE as executive vice president. Joyce will be based out of the Minneapolis office. Joyce comes from John B. Collins Associates, where he was company director, manager of its largest Property and Casualty Profit Center and its National Specialty Casualty Practice Group Leader.
Integro announced that PATRICIA A. MOORES has been appointed a principal and specialized claims attorney for the company's Aviation Practice. Moores will focus on aviation and product liability litigation for clients. She joins Integro from Reed Smith LLP, where she specialized in aviation litigation, with nearly two decades of experience representing product manufacturers and other aviation entities.
Guy Carpenter & Co. Inc., the global risk and reinsurance intermediary, announced that its dedicated facultative reinsurance unit, GCFac, has started a Risk Finance Team, which will focus on the creation, execution and management of structured risk programs. The team came to Guy Carpenter from JLT Risk Solutions, where it originated and existed for 10 years. Its expertise ranges from insurance and reinsurance brokering, to modeling and actuarial analysis, to risk financial products.
The Risk Finance Team will be led by JOHN LOBEK, who has worked in the London market for more than 30 years. Lobek formed and led the team at JLT since 1995. Following Lobek in the move will be team members STEVE FORREST, IAN MORRICE
and LUKE WIGLEY. Forrest comes to Guy Carpenter with 25 years experience in structuring insurance and risk retention programs, including captives and nonconventional structures. Morrice is trained as an actuary and has worked in general insurance and Lloyd's syndicate analysis. He came to JLT via the Lloyd's market. Wigley is a member of the Institute of Actuaries.
The new Risk Finance Team in GCFac will report to Julian Samengo-Turner and Ron Whyte, co-leaders of GCFac, and will strive to broaden services offered by Guy Carpenter's Life and Annuity Specialty Practice.
