The Neurosurgery Today Web site of the AANS contains an excellent library of neurological conditions and the latest treatments for them. AMERICAN CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION The ACA is the largest professional association in the world representing doctors of chiropractic. Its Web site offers health, insurance and regulatory information. Go here if you want to find out how to become certified as an exercise specialist or trainer, or if you want to tap the ACE database of fitness knowledge. AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE ASSOCIATION AIHA is one of the largest international associations serving the needs of occupational and environmental health professionals practicing industrial hygiene in industry, government, labor, academic institutions and independent organizations. AMERICAN OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION Everything eye related, especially information and a glossary on disorders, diseases and conditions most would rather not think about. AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HAND THERAPISTS Everything you could ever want to know about hand therapy and the trained occupational and physical therapists who specialize in it. ASSOCIATED BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS The ABC is a national association representing nearly 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 78 chapters across the United States. Its Web site features a whole section on safety issues, others on training and regulatory issues. This Dallas Metroplex-based health system has a Web site with information on its specialties, such as pain management and physical medicine and rehab. CALIFORNIA WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSTITUTE The California Workers' Compensation Institute is a private, nonprofit organization of insurers licensed to write workers' compensation in California, as well as public and private self-insured employers. CENTER FOR CONSTRUCTION RESEARCH AND TRAINING The Center for Construction Research and Training, formerly known as The Center to Protect Workers' Rights, is a nonprofit organization created in 1990 to become an international leader in applied research, training and service to the construction industry. CORNELL UNIVERSITY ERGONOMICS WEB CUErgo presents information from research studies and class work by students and faculty in the Cornell Human Factors and Ergonomics Research Group, focusing on ways to enhance usability by improving the ergonomic design of hardware, software and workplaces to enhance people's comfort, performance and health. INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT BOARDS & COMMISSIONS The IAIABC is a not-for-profit trade association representing government agencies charged with the administration of workers' compensation systems throughout the United States, Canada, and other nations and territories. INTERNATIONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT ASSOCIATION The ISEA is the trade association in the United States for companies that manufacture safety and personal protective equipment. MASSACHUSETTS COALITION FOR OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH The Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health seeks to educate and mobilize workers to improve their working conditions and influence public policies that govern these conditions. NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT LAW INSTITUTE NELI is a nonprofit educational organization headquartered involved in employment law compliance, the application of employment law to human resource practices, and practice and procedure before administrative bodies and in state and federal courts. The UCLA Ergonomics Web site is designed to provide workers with practical information on ergonomics--for both blue- and white-collar workers UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS LOWELL At the Department of Work Environment at UMass Lowell, the emphasis is on preventing work-related illnesses, injuries, and deaths simultaneous with the promotion of the health and safety of both the workers and the general environment. UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN CENTER FOR ERGONOMICS Information on the academic program, its research and publications, and the tools and services that the department can provide to companies and organizations.
