CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION The CDC's Workplace Safety and Health page offers resources organized by different kinds of workplace hazards, illness and disorders, as well as occupation, worksite and topic. DRI--THE VOICE OF THE DEFENSE BAR DRI is the international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. DRI provides numerous educational and informational resources to DRI members and offers many opportunities for liaison among defense trial lawyers, Corporate America, and state and local defense organizations. INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT BOARDS & COMMISSIONS The IAIABC is a not-for-profit trade association representing government agencies charged with the administration of workers' compensation systems throughout the United States, Canada, and other nations and territories. The Job Accommodation Network is a service provided by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy to facilitate the employment and retention of workers with disabilities by providing employers, employment providers, people with disabilities, their family members and other interested parties with information on job accommodations, entrepreneurship and related subjects. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INSURANCE COMMISSIONERS What you get when you bring together insurance regulators from all 50 states. NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT LAW INSTITUTE NELI is a nonprofit educational organization headquartered involved in employment law compliance, the application of employment law to human resource practices, and practice and procedure before administrative bodies and in state and federal courts. The Institute conducts seminars, briefings, conferences and other public training programs NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT LAW PROJECT The National Employment Law Project promotes policies and programs that create good jobs, strengthen upward mobility, enforce hard-won worker rights, and help unemployed workers regain their economic footing. The U.S. government's medical research agency and a wealth of information related to disorders, conditions and treatments. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION 'Nuff said. Another valuable resource for general health information and initiatives carried out by this arm of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Health tips and mandates from up North on such topics as young worker safety, environmental-related injuries and Canadian regulations. The U.S. government's online source for all regulations (or rulemakings) issued by all agencies, including those still open to comment and any and all supporting materials and reports. An online resource for employers and employees from the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba, including injury statistics and a resource library. Making life easier for Canadian citizens and employers--a government Web site dedicated to improving the delivery of government services. It helps Canadians access a wide range of the government services and benefits they need quickly and easily. U.S. CHEMICAL SAFETY AND HAZARD INVESTIGATION BOARD The CSB is an independent federal agency charged with investigating industrial chemical accidents. Its Web site includes safety reports filed about recent industrial accidents, as well as other safety resources. U.S. HOUSE COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION AND LABOR Information on the recent changes to the ADA as well as the mental health parity bill, among other things. U.S. COMMITTEE ON HEALTH, EDUCATION, LABOR AND PENSIONS Edward Kennedy's all-important committee. WORKPLACE SAFETY AND INSURANCE BOARD The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board promotes workplace health and safety, and provides a workers compensation system for the employers and workers of Ontario. There is extensive information on this site about prevention, forms, health issues, return to work programs, and links to other health and safety organizations. When employees are injured on the job, they can apply for workers? compensation depending on the nature of the incident. Often times this form of insurance can provide wages while the employee is recovering and medical benefits to help cover the cost of treatment.
