DAVID L. HERZOG was named executive vice president and chief financial officer of American International Group Inc. Herzog will play a central role in overseeing AIG's plans to pay down the credit facility from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and conduct an enterprisewide review of expenses and practices. He succeeds Steven J. Bensinger, who had served since May as vice chairman-financial services and acting CFO. Herzog has served as senior vice president and comptroller since June 2005.

ROBERT PAIANO was appointed senior vice president and enterprise chief risk officer of The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. He will report to Lizabeth Zlatkus, the company's executive vice president and chief financial officer. Paiano joined The Hartford in 1996 and most recently served as chief risk officer of the property/casualty operations.

The Hartford also appointed GREG MCGREEVEY executive vice president and chief investment officer for the company and president of Hartford Investment Management Co. McGreevey joined the firm in August as chief investment officer for insurance portfolios and succeeds David Znamierowski, who left the company. Prior to joining The Hartford, McGreevey served as vice chairman and executive vice president of ING Investment Management-Americas.

Zurich Financial Services Group appointed PHILIP WILSON to chief underwriting officer for Global Life. In this newly created role, Wilson will be responsible for the underwriting strategy, standards and processes for Life and Health globally. He joins Zurich from AIG, where he worked for the last six years, most recently as chief underwriting officer, accident & health.

WILL LOVETT will join the executive team at Allianz Aviation Managers in the division's Atlanta headquarters. Lovett will be tasked with expanding Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty's aviation insurance business. He previously served as president of AIG Aviation North America, a unit of American International Group Inc.
