Oregon: Medicare secondary payer mandatory reporting requirements

The Department of Consumer and Business Services, Workers' Compensation Division issued an Industry Notice on Oct. 28 to inform insurers and self-insured employers of new Medicare secondary payer mandatory reporting requirements being implemented by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The effective date for reporting workers' compensation claims is July 1, 2009. Information about the new requirements and steps insurers must take to comply can be found on CMS' Web site: www.cms.hhs.gov/MandatoryInsRep/.
