DANIEL MULDOWNEY was named chief financial officer of H.W. Kaufman Financial Group/Burns & Wilcox. Previously, Muldowney was senior vice president, finance, and treasurer, positions he's held since 2003. Prior to joining Burns & Wilcox in 2002, Muldowney spent more than 20 years with American Community Mutual Insurance, most recently as senior vice president and treasurer.

H.W. Kaufman Financial Group/Burns & Wilcox also promoted CHRISTOPHER ZOIDIS to company vice president. Zoidis joined the company in January 2007 and was promoted to associate vice president in October 2007. Zoidis continues to oversee Burns & Wilcox's Special Risk Division-International, an internal brokerage division, and manages the operations of R.B. Jones, a wholly owned subsidiary of the H.W. Kaufman Financial Group.

Burns & Wilcox promoted LAURA COLBERT to director of sales and marketing and CHANDRA KWASKE to underwriting manager, both in the Farmington Hills, Mich., office. Colbert is responsible for expanding the company's array of specialized insurance products. Previously, Colbert was senior underwriter, personal lines. As underwriting manager, Kwaske has overall responsibility for the production underwriting operations of the office. Previously, Kwaske was a senior underwriter.

ANDREW HANSON was named account executive in the public risk department in West Central Florida at The Florida Municipal Insurance Trust, a nonprofit organization providing insurance to governmental entities in Florida. Hanson has more than 20 years of experience, most recently with Zurich.

Markel Corp. promoted HENRY LOPEZ to executive vice president for the Markel Midwest region. Lopez has been with Markel since 1995. Most recently, he was vice president and director of business development for underwriting administration.

Markel also announced that BRAD KISCADEN will serve as the firm's chief administrative officer. He will continue his current role as chief corporate actuary. He joined Markel in 1986 as an assistant actuarial analyst and has held several positions within Markel, including actuarial supervisor, assistant manager and actuarial manager.
