Vice President and Director of Risk Management
Wells Fargo & Co.
Where did you go to school? I grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Mound Westonka high school. I worked full time after high school and found myself in the insurance industry. I set my sights on being a risk manager and joined a risk management department.
Where do you call home? While I've lived elsewhere for short periods, Minnesota is home. I love everything about it. I enjoy the change of seasons and I love snow--sometimes even when I have to shovel it! My favorite season is fall. The lakes and rivers are spectacular and I can't seem to spend enough time on or near water.
Do you have a family? Married? Children? I've been single for almost nine years and I raised 3 kids alone. My dad died at 40, widowing my mom with six of us between the ages of 8 and 16, so she's been an inspiration.
What is your favorite movie?
I don't know if I have a favorite movie. I'm a hopeless romantic and I enjoy real-life drama, so Casablanca is one of my all-time favorites.
What is your favorite adult beverage?
I hate putting my feet on the floor in the morning unless I know I set the auto timer on the coffee pot the night before. In the evenings I enjoy good wine.
Describe your ideal vacation.
Any place I can witness God's awe-inspiring creations of nature with people I love is a great vacation. The mountains, oceans, sunsets, canyons, lakes, rivers, skies--you name it--can bring tears to my eyes.
Do you have a work philosophy?
And what is it if you do? I have hired, motivated and retained a very talented team. As a manager, I enjoy developing others. I know my strengths and I very purposefully surround myself with people who have different strengths. The statements "I don't know" or "I'm not very good at that" are important to recognize and to say.
