California DWC reduces mileage rate
The Division of Workers' Compensation notified the workers' compensation community that the mileage rate for medical and medical-legal travel expenses decreased to 55 cents per mile.
The rate change went into effect Jan. 1. This rate must be paid for travel after Jan. 1 regardless of the date of injury. The mileage rate was raised on July 1, 2008, to 58.5 cents per mile after the midyear surge in gasoline prices. The updated mileage reimbursement form is posted on the DWC Web site at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/forms.html.
