Colorado: Hearing discusses change of physician
The Division of Workers' Compensation held a public hearing on Feb. 9 to afford all interested persons an opportunity to be heard prior to the adoption of proposed amendments to the Workers' Compensation Rules of Procedure, 7 C.C.R. 1101-3.
The topic to be considered was Rule 8-5(B). An injured worker is required to complete and submit a division form to effectuate a one-time change of authorized treating physician. The proposed rule amendment clarifies that the injured worker must mail or hand deliver the form to the employer by providing the form to the individual(s) designated by the employer to receive the notice. That individual must then notify the impacted physicians and the individual adjusting the claim of the change, unless there is an objection to the one-time change of physician.
