By DAN REYNOLDS, senior editor of Risk & Insurance®

Dan Reynolds: Where did you go to school?

Curtis Anderson: Assuming you are referring to college, I started college in Texas and was involved in a motorcycle wreck that sidelined me for a few months. I started a family at a young age and never went back to college after having the motorcycle accident and starting my family.

DR: Where do you call home?

CA: I live in Fountain Hills, Ariz., a suburb of Phoenix. I grew up in Texas but have now lived in Arizona for more than 32 years and love it here.

DR: Family?

CA: Rosemary (spouse) and I have three grown boys who are all married. We have five grandchildren (4 boys and 1 girl) and a sixth grandchild (another boy) on the way.

DR: What is your favorite movie and why?

CA: Don't have a favorite movie.

DR: What is your favorite adult beverage and why?

CA: Living in the desert, water is my favorite drink. If you are referring to alcoholic by using the term "adult beverage," it would be a Long Island iced tea. It has 4 shots of liquor, but when made right you cannot taste the liquor. It is a very smooth and refreshing drink.

DR: What is your ideal vacation?

CA: Anywhere with my wife and/or family--we like cruises. Our favorite locations have been Alaska, Italy and the Baltic region.

DR: Do you have work philosophy? If so, what is it?

CA: I have never considered myself the "brightest crayon in the box," so I have always worked extra hard and longer hours to be sure I got more done than others and was accessible to both the early risers and the late workers. I always try to think one step ahead of the issue, my peers and my customers. I am frank with my opinions, a good listener and a good compromiser.
