The research team identified the important stakeholders in the return-to-work process.

These stakeholders include:

  • Workplace stakeholders, such as the employer, supervisor, union representative, and health and safety consultant.
  • Injured worker.
  • Health care providers.
  • Nurse case manager.
  • Family and social network, including coworkers.

Researchers said these stakeholders have the capacity to either hamper or facility an effective RTW program.
