Oregon: Hearing scheduled to repeal obsolete reg

OAR 836-042-0030 is proposed to be repealed, as it has been obsolete since 1990.

Prior to 1990, the workers' compensation rating organization provided full classification rates, which included expenses, profits and contingencies, offset by investment income anticipated to be earned by the member insurers on Oregon workers' compensation insurance polices.

After 1990 the rating organization by law provides workers' compensation classification loss costs, which cover only the cost of workers' compensation benefits, ORS 737.320 (3). A hearing will be held on Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. in conference room E of the Labor & Industries Building, 350 Winter St., Salem, regarding the repeal of OAR 836-042-0030, and amending OAR 836-042-0085 and OAR 836-042-0220. The last day for public comment is Nov. 10. Visit http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/rules/OARS_800/OAR_836/836_tofc.html for more details.
