Oregon: Rule would delete large deductible policies requirement

OAR 836-042-0085 is proposed to be amended to delete Subsection (4). The rule requires insurers writing large deductible policies to provide the Department of Consumer and Business Services, Insurance Division, with information on premiums, deductible credits, and reimbursements on a quarterly basis.

It was determined that the premium assessment reports were accurate and the large deductible reports were not needed for verification. The division does not use this information. Deleting the subsection eliminates the insurers' requirement to provide these reports quarterly and eliminates the division's obligation to collect and maintain these reports. The information contained in the reports is collected by the workers' compensation rating organization and is available to the division on request. Visit http://oregon.gov/DCBS/DIR/rules.shtml for more details.
