The updated rules address expenses and mileage reimbursements for employees attending independent medical examinations. The adopted rules also increase the maximum amount an independent medical examiner may charge in an effort to attract and retain examiners. The maximum IME fee increased to $300 per hour for up to five hours. The rules went into effect Oct. 11, 2009. For more information, visit www.maine.gov/wcb.
