BENEFITS

Wholesale broker AMWINS GROUP BENEFITS launched its new Dialysis Management Solutions program to help self-insured employers with their dialysis-related claims through the application of regional price data and a proprietary repricing methodology.

THE HARTFORD FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP INC. released a total voluntary group life and disability benefits solution for organizations with more than 1,000 employees. The new solution includes eligibility data management, integrated enrollment services and customized portals.

SEECHANGE HEALTH is rolling out a new PPO health plan this fall in Fresno, Calif., that will feature a value-based insurance design model. Value-based models incorporate financial incentives for participants with evidence-based guidelines for providers. The plan will expand into San Francisco and Los Angeles and then Colorado and Illinois next year.

UNUM is enhancing its critical illness products by adding the H1N1 vaccine to its list of qualifying procedures for the 2009-2010 flu season. Covered individuals can submit a claim to receive their critical illness wellness benefit even if they did not incur a personal cost in getting the vaccine.

COVERAGES

ALLIED WORLD ASSURANCE CO. LTD., a member company of Bermuda-based Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings, released its Bankers' Wrap product for Asian banks. The excess solution offers professional lines coverages with a limit up to $25 million.

AMERICAN EMPIRE SURPLUS LINES INSURANCE CO., a member of the Great American Insurance Group, launched an errors-and-omissions liability insurance product for Medicare statutory compliance related to Section 111 of the Medicare/Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007.

The Global Marine and Energy Division of CHARTIS formed an alliance with POWERGUARD SPECIALTY INSURANCE SERVICES to offer solutions for the wind and solar renewable energy businesses, including $400 million in property capacity and multiline insurance solutions for OEMs, project developers and power generation operators.

SOLUTIONS

PARADIGM MANAGEMENT SERVICES introduced Complex Large Loss Plan, a medical management program for persistent claims involving catastrophic and complex injuries. The plan provides independent analysis and estimates by Milliman, built-in medical impact scales, customized performance guarantees and a risk-bearing contract structure.

AVIZENT unveiled its TeamCOMP approach to workers' comp claims management, designed to safely return injured workers to the job while reducing the duration and cost of claims. The service integrates all adjustment and medical components involved in adjudicating a claim, from first report of injury to provider contact through final resolution.

FREIGHTWATCH and OPENTECH partnered to release the first ever single-source logistics security and risk management solution for the Brazilian market. The supply chain solution combines logistics security, consultancy and risk management.

WEATHER SERVICES INTERNATIONAL and ENVA together released a new wind power forecasting tool for energy traders. Called WindCast IQ, the new service will provide forecasts at the ISO, regional and farm level, with the first two products released for the Midwest ISO and Texas region.
