COVERAGES

The Executive Liability Division of CHARTIS added new loss control services to its Employment Practices Liability Pak Premier, part of its employment practices liability product. The services come through a partnership with Jackson Lewis LLP, an employment law firm.

The HARTFORD FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP now offers a professional liability policy specifically for staff attorneys, called the Hartford Employed Lawyers Choice Liability Policy. Key features include coverage for: disciplinary proceedings and potential disbarment proceedings, failure to comply with SOX section 307, and for legal and notary services.

The HARTFORD also released Hartford CyberChoice 2.09, a cyberliability policy, to help midsize and large businesses address Internet-related exposures. The policy expands protection for Web 2.0 and social media liability, offers enhanced coverage for data privacy issues and introduces a defined term for "rogue employee."

ONEBEACON PROFESSIONAL INSURANCE announced its new Design Professional Liability product, targeted for architects, engineers, technical consultants and other design professionals. The coverage includes added-on benefits like Web-based risk management services.

RESOURCES

According to the RISK AND INSURANCE MANAGEMENT SOCIETY, new this month to the RIMS Store is the "ESSENTIALS" series of resource books. The series currently includes three titles: "Risk Management Essentials," "Insurance Essentials Handbook," and "Life & Benefits Essentials."

CRAWFORD EDUCATION SERVICES added new podcasts to its KMC On Demand service for employees, clients and the property/casualty insurance industry. The KMC podcasts offer claims adjusters quick tips, course summaries, industry news and expert interviews, among other information.

FIRSTBEST SYSTEMS launched a new Web site that provides access to its Agent-Carrier Connection, a collaborative underwriting forum, and offers a library of industry articles, calendar of events, blog and more. It is free to carriers, agents, press, analysts and other industry members.

SOLUTIONS

MITCHELL INTERNATIONAL INC. upgraded its SmartAdvisor solution to the latest Microsoft development framework, .NET 3.5, and added new Custom Report Builder functionality, which can allow end-users to design, run and distribute their own custom medical cost claims reports. These technology enhancements will be available in December 2009.

MAXIMUM PROCESSING and CDS BUSINESS MAPPING LLC partnered to integrate CDS' RiskMeter Online hazard risk report service into the Stingray System, Maximum's Web-based property/casualty insurance administration solution.

ISO subsidiaries AIR WORLDWIDE and XACTWARE released a new version of their 360Value, a Web-based reconstruction-cost estimator. The latest version includes more than three dozen new commercial building use types and a streamlined commercial module user interface.
