The amendments include the reduction in the cost of applications for certification for licensed and unlicensed entities under the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act; the reduction in recertification fees; the revision of the costs of annual assessment fees; the removal of the loan repayment surcharge in California Code of Regulations, Title 8 section 9779.5(a)(2); the repeal of the late payment fee in California Code of Regulations, Title 8 section 9779; and the elimination of duplicative health care organization reporting requirements. The final regulations were filed with the secretary of state on Nov. 4, 2009, and take effect Jan. 1, 2010. For more information, visit www.dir.ca.gov.
