Colorado: Hearing on premium surcharge rate scheduled

The Division of Workers' Compensation will hold a public hearing on March 1 at 9 a.m. in the 2nd floor conference room, 633 17th St., Denver, regarding proposed amendments to Rule 2-5 of the Workers' Compensation Rules of Procedure, 7 CCR 1101-3.

The hearing will address a proposed decrease in the special funds premium surcharge rates paid by carriers and self-insured employers. The proposed amendment will provide sufficient funding for the Workers' Compensation Cash Fund while decreasing the amount going into the Special Funds. The amendment will result in the total surcharge being lowered, which may result in a decrease in premium. It may impact the premium charged to a particular employer.

Written comments should be submitted to Bob Summers, Director, Division of Workers' Compensation, 633 17th St., Suite 400, Denver, CO 80202 prior to the hearing.
