Iowa: Comp officials say consolidating hearing locations would cut costs
The Iowa Division of Workers' Compensation has proposed consolidating the state's eight workers' comp hearing locations into four -- one location per judicial district.
Officials said that by reducing that number the state comp agency hopes to rein in costs and better meet shrinking budget projections.
Comments on the proposal and other strategies for saving money or cutting costs are welcome. Contact Commissioner Chris Godfrey by e-mail at christopher.godfrey@iwd.iowa.gov or send comments to 1000 East Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50319.
