Washington: DLI changes concrete, masonry construction standards

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries announced changes to WAC 296-155 Part O, via expedited rule.

Print Email Add to Facebook Add to Twitter Add to LinkedIn Write to the Editor Reprints

The purpose of the proposed changes is to update the American National Standards Institute reference from the 1970 edition to the 1997 edition. The ANSI reference that is being updated is A10.9-1997, concrete and masonry work safety requirements. An internal reference will also be updated. The revisions will make the department's concrete, concrete forms, shoring, and masonry construction standards consistent with current industry practices, thereby eliminating confusion and clarifying employer obligations. Any objection to the use of the expedited rulemaking process can be submitted in writing to: Naomi Goodman, Department of Labor and Industries, P.O. Box 44001, Olympia, WA 98504. Written objections must be received by April 5. For more information, visit www.lni.wa.gov.
