The Responsibility Leader® Designation

For brokers deserving of the Responsibility Leader® designation, their leadership extends beyond the professional communities they serve and into the personal communities where they live.

This designation honors Employee Benefit Power Broker® winners who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, and are worthy of the added designation of "Responsibility Leader®."

A panel of judges reviewed the applications of the Employee Benefit Power Broker® winners to identify eligible candidates for Responsibility Leader® designations.

The editors of Risk & Insurance® chose six as this year's "Responsibility Leaders®."

The Employee Benefit Power Broker® winners who appear in the following pages as a Responsibility Leader® were singled out for their commitment to their organization, their profession and their community.

Candidates were chosen after they were asked to answer the following questions:

-- Employee benefits issues increasingly stem from the current economic slowdown and declining employment levels. How have you helped your clients, their employees and the community-at-large confront and resolve these difficult issues in very tough times?

-- How does your work as a consultant go "above and beyond" in a way that benefits clients or the community?

-- How does your work as a broker, and your career as a broker, reflect a commitment to do the "right thing" for your professional community, your clients and the community at large?

-- How have you encouraged young people to consider brokerage and insurance as a career?

-- What recognition have you received from your company, your profession and/or your community?

From the editor and the publisher of Risk & Insurance®, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year's Employee Benefit Power Broker® winners who've also been selected as a Responsibility Leader®.

For benefits brokers and consultants following in their footsteps, we know these brokers designated as a Responsibility Leader® provide the necessary leadership for the rest of the industry.
