Impact of healthcare reform

According to the National Council on Compensation Insurance, several factors related to national health care reform have a potential to impact the workers' comp industry.

These factors include new taxes, changes in Medicare reimbursements, and the strain on the system from the newly insured. Researchers said the most immediate effect of the bill is the modification of eligibility criterion of federal black lung benefits.
