Oregon: Commercial contractors must carry insurance
Beginning July 1, all commercial contractors in Oregon will be required to carry workers' compensation insurance.
The change was prompted by H.B. 3242, which was passed by the state Legislature in 2007. This requirement is a condition for obtaining an Oregon Construction Contractors Board license. For more information about the change in law and who is required to purchase workers' comp coverage, call the CCB at (503) 378-4621 or visit www.oregon.gov/CCB.
