Missouri: Labor Department concerned about increase in stress

Officials from the Missouri Department of Labor recently hosted a series of educational seminars to raise awareness about a growing problem -- work-related stress.

Larry Rebman, director of the department, said businesses are working harder than ever in today's rough economy, and employees are being forced to learn how to do more with less. While this means that individual productivity is up, he said, the burden of these additional tasks has increased the risk of stress.

"We are seeing an increase in stress-related job separation issues," Rebman said. "We want Missouri employers to understand the Labor Department is a resource at their disposal."
