Florida: State launches online tool to calculate benefits

Employees in Florida have a new tool to estimate their workers' compensation benefits when they are injured on the job.

Alex Sink, the state's chief financial officer, said the online calculator designed by the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation allows injured employees to estimate their wage replacement benefits. The highly interactive tool can be used by any injured worker in understanding how temporary disability and impairment benefits are determined.

"I applaud the division for creating a proactive tool and Web site to assist injured employees in their time of need," Sink said. "I encourage all citizens to visit the Web site and learn more about the process."
