Oregon: Division considers change to medical fee, payment
The Workers' Compensation Division proposed changes to rules regarding medical fees and payment and medical services.
The proposed rules adopt an updated medical fee schedule and resources for the payment of health care providers. It also addresses: 1) data that must be included on hospital inpatient and outpatient bills; 2) billing requirements and payment criteria for ambulatory surgery centers; 3) prescription pricing guides to be used by insurers in calculating payment for drugs; 4) progress reporting by a physical therapist to the worker's attending physician and the insurer; and 5) the information an insurer must include with the independent medical examination appointment notice it sends to the worker.
