New Twitter site provides information on workplace noise control

Research, facts and statistics, news and updates, conferences, publications, and other information is available for reading and commenting via Twitter. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health launched the "tweets" to allow readers to follow and connect with the work-related hearing loss prevention community.

In its first tweet, the agency linked to its Noise and Hearing Loss Prevention page and invited readers to learn about hearing loss prevention.

NIOSH said tweets will address information related to occupational noise control and hearing loss prevention. Readers can comment and provide additional links via their own tweets.

The Twitter site came as OSHA withdrew its proposed noise interpretation change to study other approaches to abate workplace noise hazards. Commenters had cited increased costs and other challenges associated with the revised interpretation.

The site has 247 followers.
