JIM VENDETTI was promoted to the position of executive vice president and chief underwriting officer for Starr Indemnity and Starr Surplus Lines, both members of Starr Cos. Previously, he served as senior vice president and CUO for the two companies.

RICHARD BESSINGER was named senior vice president at Starr Indemnity and Starr Surplus Lines, where he previously served as vice president, product and producer management and development.

Another member of Starr Cos., Starr Marine Agency Inc., announced that CHRISTINE SANTIAGO came onboard as commercial inland marine product line manager. She has more than a quarter-century of experience in property/casualty, with more than 20 years in inland marine. Her most recent stint was at Axis Insurance, serving as senior vice president for inland marine.

ERIC SANDRIN was appointed as group general counsel at SCOR. He started his career in 1990 as a litigation associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. He then spent 11 years with the General Electric Co. From 2008, he was group general counsel of Atos Origin, a global IT services corporation listed on the Paris stock exchange.

THOMAS MCCARTHY joined Patriot National Insurance Group as regional vice president of the Gulf Coast. Before joining the workers' comp carrier, McCarthy was vice president at Zenith Insurance.

STEPHEN STEWART was named as vice president and head of the new specialty casualty division at Ironshore Canada Ltd. Stewart most recently was the commercial underwriting manager for Lombard Canada in Toronto, where he served for more than 10 years.

MARIO SPINA was appointed as branch vice president in Atlanta. Previously, Spina was PMA's vice president of direct sales. He has 16 years of sales experience with PMA in all and first joined the PMA Cos. in1988.
