GREG RICHARDSON was promoted to the new position of executive vice president, underwriting strategy and business analytics, for Alterra Capital Holdings Ltd. Richardson had been chief underwriting officer for the Bermuda-based insurer's Bermuda and Dublin reinsurance operations.

JED RHOADS was named as executive vice president and chief underwriting officer for the Bermuda Reinsurance unit. For the past year, Rhoads had been managing the day-to-day operations of the Bermuda Reinsurance business. Previously, he led Harbor Point's property catastrophe and retro business in Bermuda.

Alterra also announced that TREVOR CARVEY was named as executive vice president and chief underwriting officer for the U.K. reinsurance operation. Carvey established Harbor Point's U.K. office four years ago and has held previous positions with Arch Re Bermuda and GE ERC/Frankona.

ALEXANDER MOCZARSKI, 55, will succeed Peter Zaffino as president and CEO of Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC. Zaffino is becoming CEO and president of Marsh Inc. Moczarski had been president of the international division of Marsh Inc., where he joined in 1993 from AIG.

SCOTT PRICE was named head of U.S. marine and energy for Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC, the reinsurance intermediary arm of Marsh & McLennan Cos. Guy Carpenter also announced that STEVE VIVIAN assumed the new role of assisting in the development of the global marine business.

GIANMARCO TOSTI was appointed as CEO of Willis Facultative London, a newly created role. Tosti joined Willis in 2006, most recently serving as managing director of facultative international. Before Willis, Tosti was at Aon Re Italy for 11 years where he was a member of the board and was responsible for the facultative nonmarine division.
