People on the Move: Insurance

CHRISTIAN MUMENTHALER was named as CEO of the reinsurance subsidiary of Swiss Re Ltd., the Swiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd., effective Oct. 1. He has been chief marketing officer for reinsurance since January 2011.

ROXANNE MITCHELL was appointed as president of the excess and surplus lines unit at XL Insurance. Mitchell joins XL Insurance from Lexington Insurance, where she served for 20 years, most recently as zonal executive for the Midwest region.

ROY WOODALL was nominated by President Barack Obama to be the insurance member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council. Woodall served as Kentucky insurance commissioner from 1966 to 1967, held leadership positions at industry trade groups, and then worked as the senior insurance policy analyst at the Department of the Treasury from 2002 to 2011.

DON HARRELL joined Liberty International Underwriters as senior vice president of marine. Harrell has spent more than 20 years in the insurance industry focused on building and managing regional and global marine business operations in Latin America, Europe, Asia and the United States.

Liberty Mutual also announced that ENRIQUE HUERTA was named as CEO of Liberty Seguros Compania de Seguros y Reaseguros, effective July 1. Huerta joined Liberty Seguros Spain in 2001 and has worked in various roles throughout the company since then.
