ARNE HERENSTEIN was named senior vice president and chief information officer at Harleysville Group Inc. The 35-year industry veteran worked at OneBeacon Insurance previously as vice president of IT, as well as at Cigna, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Royal Insurance.

JOE RAINONE will lead the new facility opened by Alterra Capital to underwrite excess casualty insurance in the United States. Rainone is senior vice president of Alterra Specialty.

MARSH DUNCAN was named as senior vice president and head of the environmental division in Georgia for Argo Group International. Duncan brings more than 14 years of environmental underwriting experience, including stints as vice president of environmental for ACE Westchester and, before that, for Gulf Insurance.

MARTIN HEADDEY will lead the new specialist affinity programs team for Kiln. The group will underwrite from Lloyd's and will focus on bespoke physical and financial asset protection risks around the world.

DAVID RODGERS was appointed as managing director of the new Australian platform for Ironshore Inc., called Ironshore Australia Pty Ltd. Based in Melbourne, Rodgers has been with Ironshore since 2007 and most recently served as Midwest regional executive in Chicago.

GORDON GREIG joined Third Coast Underwriters as a senior claims examiner for the Gulf Region. Greig is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the state of Louisiana, and the United States Eastern and Western District Courts of Louisiana.
