SOLUTIONS

EQECAT released WORLDCATenterprise 3.16, which includes updates to the North Atlantic hurricane, Canada quake and Asia typhoon catastrophe models, including updated industry exposure databases for U.S. hurricane and Canada earthquake. For installations using SQL Server, this release also includes the ability to dynamically connect and disconnect portfolio databases.

MITCHELL INTERNATIONAL INC. did a general release of Mitchell ClaimIQ version 3.0. This latest release of the claims decision support system for property/casualty insurance carriers delivers a series of new features that empower claims adjusters to conduct comprehensive and accurate claims investigations, evaluations, negotiations and settlement efforts.

BLUEWAVE TECHNOLOGY made available its PipelineClaims Version 5.0, an upgrade to the company's Web-based claims administration system that supports the ISO ClaimSearch Universal Format.

EARNIX released Earnix Optimizer version 5.5 to provide an integrated platform that enables insurers, insurance brokers and banks to maximize the value of customer relationships by utilizing robust analytics and delivering the power of optimization to the point of customer interaction. The latest release of Earnix Optimizer includes new pricing management capabilities that shorten cycle times for new price rollouts, providing control and automation of all the steps involved from analysis and decision to testing and deployment to the production systems.

COVERAGES

ZURICH now offers a new insurance policy to protect membership-based group customers from untimely accidents that occur during sponsored events or activities. Zurich Group Sponsored Special Risk is available for country clubs, camp, daycare centers, religious organizations, union groups, and other such groups of all sizes and unique needs.

ALLIANT INSURANCE SERVICES created a national public entity environmental liability insurance program through a strategic alliance with ACE ENVIRONMENTAL RISK. The Alliant Public Entity Environmental Liability (APEEL) Program provides group members with tailored coverage to address the unique pollution liability exposures of public agencies.

LIBERTY MUTUAL AGENCY CORP. regional commercial lines companies are now offering Fit4Work, a new integrated disability management program for workers' compensation policyholders. Fit4Work helps employers get workers back on the job with temporary, transitional work assignments, including modified or alternate duties that are within an employee's current physical capabilities.

MARSH created a new form of insurance protection designed to provide coverage for Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations to assist organizations in managing the rising costs of anti-bribery actions. Developed by Marsh's Financial and Professional Liability Practice (FINPRO), FCPA Corporate Response provides cost of investigation coverage for both individuals and the organization.

RESOURCES

The INSURANCE EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION (IEA) released its fall 2011 programs for enrollment. Courses begin August 2011. IEA is also offering the following programs: Workers' Compensation Claims Administration (WCCA & WCCP), Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM), Certified Case Management Professional (CCMP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in General Insurance (AINS) and an on-demand video series.

The NATIONAL HEARING CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION (NHCA) issued a set of guidelines for recording hearing loss on OSHA 300 logs, to assist audiologists and other professional reviewers to determine the recordability of occupational hearing loss. Under these guidelines, NHCA advises professional reviewers to take into consideration several things when determining occupational hearing loss for documentation on the OSHA 300 Log.
