California: Pathology and clinical laboratory fee schedule change

The Division of Workers' Compensation adopted changes to the pathology and clinical laboratory fee schedule to conform to changes to the Medicare payment system.

Effective for services rendered on or after Aug. 1, the maximum reasonable fees for pathology and laboratory services must not exceed 120 percent of the applicable fees set forth in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' clinical laboratory fee schedule. For pathology and laboratory procedures not covered by the Medicare payment system, the maximum reasonable fee paid must not exceed the fee specified in the official medical fee schedule.
