The Division of Workers' Compensation proposed regulations to implement the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and state laws governing the accommodations process for members of the public participating in the division's activities, services, and programs.

The rules set out the disability accommodation request process. The rules state that information relating to an accommodation request will be kept confidential to the extent possible, unless waived by the individual. The rules also set the decision-making process and the appeal procedure. A public hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sept. 27 in the auditorium of the Elihu Harris State Office Building at 1515 Clay Street in Oakland. Written comments should be e-mailed to dwcrules@dir.ca.gov.
