South Carolina: Commission eyeballs reg change for fee schedule

The Workers' Compensation Commission proposed to amend a regulation regarding the physician's fee schedule.

The proposed amendment removes language that limits the commission to using a relative scale value and a conversion factor when establishing maximum allowable payments for medical service providers. The proposed change will not affect the current fee schedule. Any specific change to the fee schedule requires a separate and distinct vote by the commission. The commission plans to use a single conversion factor as long as the commission uses the Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System when establishing maximum allowable payments for medical service providers.
