New York: Comments on recording hearings being accepted

The Workers' Compensation Board proposed amendments to rules regarding hearings before the board.

Print Email Add to Facebook Add to Twitter Add to LinkedIn Write to the Editor Reprints

The amendments permit the use of alternative and additional means of recording hearings, such as the use of electronic recording devices. The rules require the board to have verbatim records of all hearings and proceedings placed in the case file in a readable, viewable, or audible format. The rules allow either party to request a transcript of the hearing or proceeding that is not in a viewable or audible format. The board will make arrangements for the immediate transcription of the hearing, which will be provided upon a payment of fees and placed in the case file. Written comments on the proposed rule will be accepted at regulations@wcb.state.ny.us until Nov. 14. For text of the proposed rules, visit www.wcb.state.ny.us/content/main/wclaws/Proposed/Part300_09_2011_Text.jsp.
