Texas: Deadline for comments on income benefits fast approaching
The Division of Workers' Compensation proposed amendments to rules relating to the procedures insurance carriers and injured workers must follow when resolving an overpayment or underpayment of income benefits.
The proposed rules only apply to income benefits and do not affect the division's authority to identify and take action on underpayments and overpayments on its own motion. The division also proposed a sample notice of underpayment of income benefits that injured workers may use when providing the insurance carrier with written notice of an underpayment. Public comments should be submitted to rulecomments@tdi.state.tx.us by Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. Those with questions should contact James Dodds at james.dodds@tdi.state.tx.us.
