ACE announced the appointment of CAROLYN HAMILTON as regional development manager for corporate risks. Hamilton is well known in the industry and has had a highly distinguished career, most recently with Chubb Insurance, where her role was UK regions manager. Prior to this she was with Independent Insurance and General Accident.
She has considerable experience in the regional insurance environment and strong broker relationships. A significant part of this newly created role will be to work with ACE's regional branch network to strengthen broker relationships and progress ACE's distribution strategy.

Zurich today announced that AARON ORT is joining the company as head of commercial surety.
Ort joins Zurich from Chubb's commercial surety operations where he served as director of commercial surety. In total, he has nearly 19 years of surety management and underwriting experience with several leading surety providers.
"Commercial Surety has played an integral part of the profitable growth of the surety business for Zurich in North America in recent years," said Dan Riordan, president of Zurich's specialty products group. "Our strategy to be a leading provider of commercial surety bonds to Fortune 2,000 companies has been well received in the marketplace and Aaron will play a key role as we expand our capabilities going forward."
Mike Bond, head of surety for Zurich in North America said: "Aaron Ort has a demonstrated track record working to meet the commercial surety needs of Fortune 2,000 customers. I am confident that as the leader of our commercial surety group, he will continue the consistency and customer focus that has been a cornerstone of the Zurich commercial surety team's success."
XL Group's surety unit is expanding with the addition of JAMES M. HOYAS as vice president and executive underwriter. Hoyas will be based in XL's Baltimore office.

"He brings a wealth of experience, talent and energy in addition to a proven track record in serving customer needs at an extremely high level. Jim will help in those efforts by directing our underwriting teams and managing day-to-day broker and customer relationships."
Prior to joining XL, Mr. Hoyas has held various surety underwriting and management positions with the United States Fidelity and Guarantee Company, St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, and Zurich.
