California: Division changes data reporting rules

The Division of Workers' Compensation adopted rules regarding electronic data reporting.

These rules went into effect on Nov. 15. The rule states that all payments or settlements on a medical bill for which a lien had been filed with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board must be reported to the workers' compensation information system. The electronic data interchange implementation guide for first and subsequent reports of injury will become required on Nov. 15.
