Oregon: Division looks at managed care rules
The Workers' Compensation Division proposed rules regarding medical fee and payment, medical services, and managed care organizations.
The rules increase payments for ambulance and dental services, establish billing codes for closing examinations and closing reports, increase interpreter mileage reimbursement, and clarify payment requirements when an ambulatory surgery center performs multiple procedures. The rules also modify the managed care organization certification and plan development process by eliminating the requirement for prospective organizations to "qualify" before applying for certification and allowing the organization to send the director a standard provider agreement and identify variations.
